Notes on the Manuscript
I always plot my books before I begin them. I need to "see" what will happen. But what I think should happen sometimes doesn't or other things occur that I hadn't expected. I always have to correct course in the middle of the first draft of a book. I sit down with my notebook, figure out what's wrong, and change it.
I thought you might like to see some of my course corrections with the first draft of A Scottish Love.
This doesn't mean, however, that everything on these pages will be in the finished book. Often, after the second draft (where the skeleton is polished), I realize that something needs to be moved.
Hope you enjoy a peek into the process!
