The Story of the Paper Bag

 

 

I decided to do postcards for Sold to a Laird. 

 

The US Postal Service is very strict about its postcard requirements.  Nothing explicit can be sent via mail.  To ensure that the cover of Sold to a Laird didn’t violate any requirements, I went to the main post office and talked to one of the supervisors. 

 

“Well, it’s pretty explicit,” he said, gazing down on the cover’s décolletage. 

“Will it pass?”  I asked. 

“Well, it could offend some people.” 

“Do you really think so?” 

“Well, you can almost see hers, but you can definitely see his,” he said. 

It took me a minute of staring at the cover until I realized what he meant. 

 

I got so tickled by his response that I sent out the postcards with a paper bag over the top of both of them and the story on the back.
